CUSTOM PROJECT / TORONTO WATERFRONT
SEASONAL DOCK POWER
A purpose-built DWM42 enclosure delivering 200-amp service to three floating docks and a fully equipped kiosk—designed to disconnect cleanly every winter.
01 / PROJECT OVERVIEW
BUILT AROUND
WATERFRONT
REALITIES.
A busy downtown Toronto water-taxi operation needed permanent shoreline power for a floating koisk and three docks-without making seasonal removal difficult. The system had to handle high electrical demand, flood exposure and a repeatable spring-to-fall connection cycle.

02 / THE CHALLENGE
BIG POWER
BESIDE
WATER.
UNPREDICTABLE
The kiosk needed enough power for HVAC, lighting, communications, vending and dock service at the same time. Every live connection had to remain protected from high-water events and support fast seasonal disconnection.
Flood exposure
Critical electrical connections had to remain well above realistic water levels.
High electrical demand
Several major loads needed to operate simultaneously from one enclosure.
Seasonal removal
The floating docks and kiosk leave the water completely each winter.
Limited shoreline space
The solution needed maximum capacity in a compact, serviceable footprint.
03 / THE SOLUTION
HIGH CAPACITY POWER.
SIMPLE SEASONAL
CONNECTION.
PSI engineered a double-wide outdoor enclosure that combines the service panel, dock connections and maintenance power in one protected shortline location.
Everything the
operation needs, in
one enclosure.
The primary equipment and dock connection points are elevated inside the cabinet, while bottom-entry conduit keeps the cable route protected and the installation clean.

SEASONAL BY DESIGN
Connect in
spring.
Disconnect in fall.
The three keyed, weatherproof pin-and-sleeve connectors give dock staff a consistent connection point for each seasonal transition.
The operation can restore dock and kiosk power in minutes without opening the primary service section or altering permanent wiring.

AN ENTIRE
The completed system gives the water-taxi team a safer and more managable way to power seasonal infrastructure without sacraficing capacity, shoreline space or service access.
01
Flood-resilient layout
Primary connections and equipment are mounted high inside the enclosure.
02
Fast seasonal changeover
Dock staff can disconnect and reconnect the floating infrastructure efficiently.
03
Full operational capacity
HVAC, lighting, communications, vending and dock power share one service point.
04
Simple, keyed connections
Pin-and-sleeve connectors reduce the risk of an incorrect connection.
05
Compact double-wide footprint
High electrical capacity fits into a practical shoreline installation.
06
Waterfront-ready protection
The coated exterior, canopy and bottom cable entry suit the environment.
